I use a combination of techniques influenced by Freud’s theories, the Surrealist movement and the Dadaist Poets.
Using a typewriter I compose pages of uninterrupted, ‘automatic’ writings, opening creativity and accessing unconscious thoughts. I cut phrases from the pages of writings and pick them at random to create Dadaist, chance poetry. In my collage work I combine my writings with my ‘automatic drawings and images from my everyday life.
Through this process, I translate internal fragments of thoughts, images, and words into a visual format of layered text and collage.
