A Memory and a Dream
standing in a field of forgotten flowers
i stole a petal from a wild lily
carried home in my pocket with a rusted nail and
a wing from a dragon fly
i pinned the petal to my wall
i hid it under my pillow to entice you into my dreams
take me by the hand
lead me back to the field
wrap your arms around me
and tell me i am not alone

This installation addresses issues of memory, time - past, present, future - and my environment - the place in which the past and the future collide.
It explores issues of togetherness and solitude, love and loneliness, and the connections and misconnections between people.

Included in the "Coexisting" exhibition at Women's Studio Workshop in 2005 "A Memory and a Dream" filled a 4’ by 6’ room.
Materials: wood block type, Polaroid, i-zone, mini cloths pins, dried wildflowers, to-do lists, dead dragonflies, pink yarn, push pins, light and shadows
