This body of work relies heavily on process and the resulting interplay of text and image.

Using a combination of techniques influenced by Freud’s theories, the Surrealist movement and Dadaism I compose
pages of uninterrupted, ‘automatic’ writings on a type writer. I then visually layer the writings to create texture and depth
within each image.

In my collage work I combine writing with automatic drawing. Through this process, I translate internal fragments
of thoughts, images, and words into a visual format of layered text and collage.
